Qaelon Medical Welcomes Dr. Marylise Boutros to Scientific Advisory Board

STRASBOURG, France, Sept. 29, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Qaelon Medical, a pioneer in real-time surgical leak detection and advanced insufflation technology, today announced the appointment of Marylise Boutros, MD, FRCSC, FACS, to its Scientific Advisory Board (SAB). As a distinguished colorectal surgeon and internationally renowned researcher for the Digestive Disease Institute at Cleveland Clinic Florida, Dr. Boutros's unparalleled expertise in colorectal surgery, multicenter clinical research, and clinical practice guideline development, will help shape Qaelon's clinical strategy to become the new standard of care for leak detection and localization in gastrointestinal and colorectal procedures.

Dr. Boutros joins existing SAB members Andrew Storm, MD, FASGE, Chair of Endoscopy at Mayo Clinic and Joel Dunning, MD, MBBS, PhD and thoracic surgeon at James Cook University Hospital in the UK.

Dr. Marylise Boutros MD, FRCSC, FACS is a leading colorectal surgeon and Regional Vice-Chair of Research for the Digestive Disease Institute at Cleveland Clinic Florida, overseeing clinical research across four hospitals. In this leadership role, Dr. Boutros has secured new peer-review grants and NIH funding and grown active clinical trials from 12 to 69. Additionally, Dr. Boutros leads the Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee for the American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS) and serves as the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) Representative on the National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC) of the American College of Surgeons (ACS). A distinguished clinician-scientist, she practices advanced minimally invasive surgical approaches including robotics, transanal endoscopic surgery and endoscopy.
